A historic Victorian ready for editorial

The remodel of this Victorian house in Alameda was a creative collaboration between Landed Interiors & Homes and Sunset magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Irene Edwards. For this gut renovation of a 140-year old home, we found inspiration in our client’s adventurous taste and feminine style. The design process and final project were profiled in the September 2016 and May 2017 issues of Sunset magazine.

Along with selecting a cohesive scheme of architectural finishes and fixtures for the entire home, we provided design and construction administration for three baths and a large kitchen. Dramatic double-height ceilings allowed for custom cabinetry, floor-to-ceiling tile, and a library ladder. We worked closely with the client and approached her fashion-forward taste by selecting a timeless mix of new and vintage furnishings and artful lighting.
